Nevada approves “Robot Drivers License” law.

From March 1 this year if you see a red license plate in Nevada, it means the driver is a robot!

Pushed through mainly for Google’s robotic car program, AB511 will allow automated vehicles to legally drive on all roads, provided they meet the regulations of the new law. That includes paying a US$1-3 million insurance bond per car, and providing a detailed report on what is being tested in each car.

The automated vehicles will have red plates, and once the research is complete the cars will be issued neon green plates - meaning they are fully licensed to self-drive.

iPad 3 launch to coincide with new Apple TV?

The iPad 3 launch is strongly rumoured to be happening around the first week of March, with a high resolution display of 2048x1536 pixels. That resolution is greater than even 1080p, yet the iTunes Store currently only offers up to 720p content.

This - along with a request from Apple to movie studios late last year to start supplying 1080p content - has led MacRumors to speculate that Apple will also release an updated Apple TV alongside the iPad 3. The current 2nd generation Apple TV only displays 720p, so an update would tie in nicely with a 1080p iTunes Store. 

Of course they could always surprise everyone and release a 1080p Apple TV, as has long been hoped for!
